Two schemes instead of one
Every transaction is verified against ECDSA and XMSS at the same time. The classical scheme gives compatibility; the hash-based one gives a margin of safety for the day secp256k1 stops being dependable.
B-Hydra is an electronic cash network built around signatures a quantum computer cannot break. An XMSS key signs once and burns. That is where the strength comes from — and where all of the engineering difficulty comes from too.
Hash of the last block
—
A leaf lights up at the moment of signing, raises a path to the root, and is never used again. Reusing a leaf exposes the private key — which is why state is written to disk before signing, not after.

Every transaction is verified against ECDSA and XMSS at the same time. The classical scheme gives compatibility; the hash-based one gives a margin of safety for the day secp256k1 stops being dependable.
A transaction can be handed straight from one device to another over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth and delivered to the network later, once a connection is back. The signature does not depend on it.
The block header is hashed with a single pass of SHA-512: the value being searched sits at the end of the string, so there is nothing to append after it. Merkle leaves are hashed twice, where the data is variable length and length-extension protection is needed. There is deliberately no custom construction here: a new primitive has no years of open analysis behind it.
No web panel, no account page: the node is a process that listens on a port and answers with JSON. Everything shown on this page arrives through the same commands.
Alpha. There is no public network.
The protocol core is written and covered by tests. The chain runs in solo mining on a single node — there are no public nodes yet, and the network cannot be joined from outside. The figures above come from that node and refresh every few minutes.
The coin is not traded, not sold, and has no price. No fundraising of any kind is taking place. If someone offers to sell you BHY, it is not us.
A ready-made application for Windows, macOS and Linux — wallet, mining and P2P in one window. No Python needed: everything is packed into a single file.
